Trail Rider Essentials

Mountain Biking T0048c Tailored coaching on all the essential single track and trail riding skills.

Like most things in life, mountain biking is mainly about confidence.  If you've got it, you'll ride up and over most things a trail throws at you.  If you haven't, then you'll probably back off, let the trail take control and end up hitting the deck.

We aim to give you the confidence to be in control on the trails by coaching you through a set of skills that are essential for all mountain bikers:-

  • Selecting smooth lines in tough terrain
  • Maintaining momentum through better braking
  • Riding over anything with wheel lifts and bunny hops
  • Riding drop offs
  • Track stands (keeping the bike stationary without putting your feet down)
  • Riding step ups

We typically focus on developing these "attack skills" whilst out riding the trials, identifying and anticipating tough sections of trail and using them to have a little fun.  Coaching is always personalised to the individuals’ needs.  This is done during the day’s riding, using short sections of trail to practice skills.

Trail Rider Essentials courses are run in the following locations:-

Mountain Biking Lake District 0359Lake District

If you haven't ridden in the Lakes before, you'll love the trails.  Rolling fell sides, hard packed tracks through wooded valleys with beautiful views of all the lakes and mountains.
It's impossible to describe the beauty of England's largest national park, you'll just have to experience it for yourself!

Mountain Biking Peak District MO1Peak District

The first "jewel in the crown" of the English National Park system, and deservedly so.  The countryside is idyllic and the heather lined trails that cut across its' remote moorland gives you a real out there feel, despite the fact that the Park is so centrally placed.
